Got Milk? Got Acne!

Many medical professionals still insist that there is no link between diet and acne, but I just can’t buy that point of view. Your acne is forming because your body is overloaded with either chemicals or hormones (or, both) and is getting rid of the excess in sebum oil, the root of all acne. How anyone could believe that putting more of these chemicals and hormones into your body won’t affect how your body reacts is beyond me.

Most of us first experience acne during our teenage years. During this time, your hormone production runs wild and your body reacts by sending the excess out through your skin in sebum oil. This is how all acne pimples start.

The thing is, if you’re already overloaded with hormones, do you think it wise to add more? That’s exactly what you’ll do by consuming any kind of dairy product. The glass of milk you had at breakfast this morning contains fifty nine different hormones plus saturated animal fats and steroids. One of the main goals of any acne diet is to severely restrict consumption of dairy products.

Adult acne is simply a continuation of teen acne, except the cause is usually the chemicals used in processed foods rather than hormones. To your body, these chemicals are no different to the hormones of your younger years. And, it reacts the same way, sending them out in sebum oil that starts your acne outbreaks.

Any effective diet for acne prone skin will eliminate processed foods to remove the root cause of extra sebum production.

Even these small examples show a definite link between what you eat and acne formation. Never forget that the pimples that form on your skin are the result of a deeper problem. To get rid of the outer problem (acne), you must help your body regain the internal balance that is the root of your problem.
